Dear Family,
November, December and January are months full of celebrations across the globe, across religions and across cultures. We look forward to time with our loved ones near and far. It’s a time for reminiscing and reflecting. And it’s a time for laughing, singing and yes partying! The holidays have always been an incredibly fun and exciting time for my dad, sisters and me. Christmas is especially our favorite. As little girls, our kickoff to Christmas was singing along to Johnny Mathis’ version of “It’s a Marshmallow World.” And if you listen closely, you can hear me singing now. We have a full play and watch list that begins the day after Thanksgiving and lasts until New Year’s. Oh how I love the holidays!
It’s been a busy few months at ColorsVA and we’ve decided to have an expanded December issue. We’re continuing to explore equity by exploring income inequality and the changing landscape of retail. We introduce you to a beloved educator and a couple who work side by side. And for the holidays, we share events around Southwest and Central Virginia and explore food, family and tradition.
This year, the holiday season will look and feel different for me as it will for you. But what remains is the same – the joy that comes with being with family and friends. Take this time to create new traditions.
Tis the Season!
